 ISO has three membership categories -

 1. Member Institutions -

 These are national institutions, which are considered to be the most represented standards body in each country, only these members have the right to vote.

 2. Representative Member -

 They are nations that do not have any standard organization of their own.  These members are familiar with ISO activities, but do not participate in standards enforcement.

 3. Donor or consumer member -

 These are nations with small economies that pay small membership fees, but follow the development of standards.
