Hello friends, welcome to hindipedia.net. Today we will tell about Nifty in this post, what is Nifty? How are stocks selected in Nifty? What are the Futures of Nifty? Do the Nifty stocks keep changing? So let's know about the Nifty.

What is Nifty? What is Nifty?

Nifty is the index. It is made up of two words, National and Fifty . It is also called Nifty 50 because it consists of 50 shares and these 50 shares together form Nifty.

It is an important benchmark index of the NSE ( National Stock Exchange) . Listed Nifty is   an index of 50 major stocks on the NSE .

The movement of the market is revealed only by the movement of the Nifty. Nifty is the largest trading  stock market . The Nifty consists of 50 stocks because the exchange determines the number of shares in the index.

There are more than 1600 companies registered in the NSE, out of which the largest and financially strong companies of the 50 different sectors of the country are selected to be indexed in the Nifty. Such as banks, metals, pharma companies, media, IT (etc.).

The Nifty holds shares of different sectors. Some sectors may have more shares and some sectors may not have even a single share. But there may not be shares in the same sector such as metal, IT, bank, pharma etc. There are different companies but in total there are only 50 companies in Nifty.

Nifty ( Nifty) History of

The Nifty began in April 1996, but had a base year of 1995. Nifty June 12, 2000 index futures based on 50 (Index Futures)  began. And June 4 200l NSE Nifty Options on (Nifty Options) began trading in.

In 1995, the Nifty's 50 companies had a base value of 1000. However, at that time the base value of 50 companies in the Nifty was around 2 lakh crore. If a value of 2 lakh crores and an index of 2 lakh crores were created, then such an index could not be counted.

When Nifty was formed in 1995, 50 companies of Nifty together amounted to Rs 2 lakh crore and today only one company TCS (Tata Consultancy Services ) is worth Rs 7lakh crore. At that time, the market of 50 companies was around 2 lakh crore rupees, the index that was created was 1000 base value. The Nifty 1000 in 2005 is now around 11000. That is, between 1995 and 2018, the value of the Nifty has increased almost 11 times.
